Quick Quips

Had lunch with a couple of old friends today. I've known LT since our secondary school days, and his wife AP much later. LT is a lawyer by training (not practicing though) and AP is a doctor (radiologist, to be precise).

Anyway, during lunch AP told us the story of how she and LT went to test drive the Subaru WRX STI this morning. The following transpired:

LT (to salesman): So can this car run faster than a Toyota Corolla?

AP: (slaps forehead)

Salesman: This car goes as fast as a Lambourghini, you know?

LT: (straight face - like he doesn't get it) Oh ok.

Hehehehehe..

By the way, I learnt a new line over lunch, courtesy of Dr AP:

The face is the airbag for the brain.

When she said it I was like.. huh? What?

See, being a doctor, she has to do her share of A&E duties, so she spoke of car accident victims coming in with mangled and smashed up faces. But the brains would still be intact. So yep.. the face is the airbag (as in car airbag) for the brain.

Well well well... you learn something new everyday, don't you?

=p
